about

I hope you're keeping in mind that these are, more than not, improv albums. Explorations in improvisation. Improv happens in the now, no time to sully with thought, so what happens in the almost now? in the face of a fairly absurd deadline, what's absurd? right? To act then to reflect on action, how natural right? healthy even, no?

So it's what we find in this reflection that I think's most fun.

To get to a point where thought's near impossible, track 4 here folks, try listening to that with headphones and maintaining coherent thoughts, I'm doing it right now and if organized synapses are lines of ants across a sidewalk, this song is a super-soaker obliviating the ants attempts to organize--I'm no worker bee! Free yourself! :)

We have fun here folks. I noticed this week, that I'd begun work on a handful of recordings that left me wanting more, so I decided to explore that feeling by asking myself "why" a whole lot as I moved through things and recorded further. What happened when I didn't get what I wanted? When I hear a fulfillment of, at least the space left for more, how does it compare to my imaginary-more desired? And track 7 is just track 1 half speed, but by track 7 in the album do you even remember you've already heard it? do you want more when it's slower or is 2:32 enough?

We're talking about experimentation here, data gathering, gathering data on yourself, using music as the constant. I think music can be used for a lot of things. Folk art, folks, folk art. Art as useful tool, or as vitamins at least.

Thanks for being here with me, this album's got me *_*
