about

I went to this talk called "Skyping with Buckminster Fuller," here's the description of it:
**Moderated by arts journalist Jori Finkel, the panel features wHY architect Kulapat Yantrasast, artist and Metabolic Studio founder Lauren Bon, and LACMA Art + Technology Lab grant recipient and You Belong to the Universe author Jonathon Keats.**

At the end a guy asked a great question, or really made a comment and turned it into a question by saying "what do you think about my comment?" so here, in this edited version of the talk, I start with that guy's question, which for me, is about zooming out to look at something.

Zooming out and zooming in for answers...the microscope is so darn powerful and SO key to the way "we" understand the world today. To be able to observe "answers" or what we process as answers...to see "what's going on" but of course, it's really just to see "how what's going on functions" not so much why or for what purpose...sort of. "Sort of" in that, yes, it's totally about why and for what purpose, but my point is that we bring our own ideas to that. The microscope just shows objects interacting, and we put our ideas on top of that.

And that's everything! Everything is objects interacting and meaning being ascribed to it. Twitch muscle impulses accumulate, and when you zoom out, like clouds, patterns abound! Which pattern makes you feel good about yourself? WHICH PATTERN GETS YOU OFF??

I hope you enjoy the aspects of this talk that I chose to focus on!

And the midi drum accompaniment--hope it acts as antennae from speech to musical spaces.

Don't compartmentalize your thoughts!
